I’m not one to casually link to other blogs — mainly because I can’t be responsible for the views and contents of someone else’s domain. However, there are times when exceptions must be made. This is one of them.
There is so much suffering in this world. From Haiti to Chile and all around the globe, the extraordinary troubles, dangers, and snares of humankind tug at the heartstrings of this rather ordinary man. A couple days ago I shared some thoughts regarding suicide — triggered, of course by the news of Andrew Koenig’s death in Vancouver. Today news of the suicide of Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son, Michael, underscored the urgency of sharing hope with those who most need to know that other people care.
Tonight in one of my regular online ‘reading rooms’ I ran across a post that spoke so eloquently to this incredible societal issue — but more importantly to those who believe all hope is lost.
So for a moment, I hope you’ll set aside any religious and political differences and consider this Prayer from the Living World.
